Advancing Innovation through Collaboration
On January 15th, 2025, TMetal Inc. had the distinct honor of visiting the Multi-Scale Additive Manufacturing (MSAM) Lab at the University of Waterloo. This cutting-edge facility is a hub for pioneering research and innovation in additive manufacturing, playing a pivotal role in shaping the industry’s future.
During our visit, we had the opportunity to explore the lab’s extensive array of advanced equipment, including state-of-the-art direct energy deposition systems, powder bed fusion technologies, and multi-scale testing and characterization tools. These capabilities exemplify MSAM’s leadership in advancing material science and optimizing additive manufacturing processes.
We were privileged to be hosted by Dr. Mihaela Vlasea, Associate Director of MSAM, and Mohsen K. Keshavarz, whose expertise and insights into the lab’s current projects and strategic vision were both enlightening and inspiring. Their dedication to advancing additive manufacturing applications across both academic and industrial landscapes is truly commendable.
At TMetal Inc., we eagerly anticipate the potential of this partnership and look forward to collaborating with the MSAM Lab in the upcoming HI-AM 2.0 (Holistic Innovation in Additive Manufacturing) initiatives and on innovative R&D projects. Together, we can address critical challenges, drive impactful innovation, and shape the future of advanced manufacturing.
We would also like to acknowledge the Additive Manufacturing Strategy Conference in the coming week in New York. The event highlights the industry’s momentum and shows transformative advancements, fostering collaboration and innovation across the field.
We express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Vlasea, Mohsen, and the entire MSAM team for their exceptional hospitality and for sharing their invaluable knowledge. TMetal Inc. is committed to building a sustainable and innovative future for additive manufacturing—together.
